San Jose—On September 25, 2017, PubNub CEO, Todd Greene, and Microsoft Principal Program Manager Lead, Dan Rosanova, are presenting together at API World on the future of Serverless offerings, and how event-driven architectures will change how applications are built.
“We’re excited to be sharing the stage with Microsoft at API World, where we’ll be discussing our collective experiences in the Serverless space; and particularly how modern application architecture is transforming the way developers create and deploy apps across every industry,” said Todd Greene, CEO of PubNub. “Our talk will cover how the recent launch of Microsoft’s Event Grid and other similar services is empowering developers to accelerate innovation, do more with less, and ultimately reduce time to market.”
The presentation will address “Serverless” across three major categories, including an open discussion on the progression of transformative technologies and the types of use cases that can benefit. It will then feature a live Microsoft+PubNub demo on event-driven design patterns. There will further be comments from PubNub on lessons learned in ‘Year One’ after launching PubNub Functions. Microsoft will also discuss Azure Event Grid, including its impact on event architectures, and how it will enable a more open, multi-cloud approach to development.
Presentation Abstract
“Everything you Wanted to Know about Serverless but Were Afraid to Ask -- Containers, FaaS, and Event Architectures”
Monday, September 25, 2017 from 12:00-12:50pm
API World - San Jose Convention Center
In a world demanding an increasing amount of software-driven products, time-to-market is everything. Serverless technologies and event architectures promise to dramatically reduce development time, reduce cost, and handle lots of the inherent scaling risks in today’s global apps. But the Serverless hype is increasing, and it’s hard to know how to take advantage of these new superpowers. How can you use these new technologies to launch your product quickly?
Todd Greene, PubNub CEO, along with Dan Rosanova, Principal Program Manager Lead at Microsoft, will discuss the three major categories of Serverless and illustrate design patterns to create the most popular modern applications. They’ll also talk about some cool new offerings that are further easing the move to Serverless.
